Complexity Grid
see attached word document for grid.
This is a simplified version of Bloom’s Taxonomy for Reading. Blooms’s Taxonomy provides an important framework for the development of comprehension. It is a framework to develop higher order thinking. By providing a hierarchy of levels, the approach allows both adult and learner to develop their skills. A few ideas on how the complexity grid below can be used:
- As an aide memoire to ensure a full range of questioning / comprehension levels is being targeted.
- To monitor over time the improvement in confidence as the complexity of questions increases.
- As an assessment tool for an individual of group (tick/initial the grid)
- For a student to write / ask their own questions
