Parent Workshop: The Curious Case of ASD and ADHD

Children only spend 18% of their time at school. This means that the home environment is vital in helping children with ADHD and ASD learn to cope with school and the wider world.

This presentation helps parents and carers to support their child with learning, behaviour and socialisation issues.

Issues to be covered include:

Demystifying the traits of ADHD and ASD
Boys and Girls in terms of ASD and ADHD
Introducing the SF3R approach to supporting key traits (S = Structure; F = Flexibility, and the 3Rs = Rapport, Relationships and Role models)
Flexible strategies for learning at school and at home
Developing rapport through effective communication
Feedback in terms of rewards and consequences
