Supporting maths at home - Q&A ‘ask the expert’ discussion session

Children/young people with a diagnosis of dyscalculia will find maths hard; but children with dyslexia, dyspraxia or no diagnosis at all can also find aspects difficult.

As a parent it is tricky to know how best to support your child. Whether that’s because you found maths easy, or hard, or were just taught differently; it can be so frustrating watching your child struggle. Fear of maths (or maths anxiety) can also come into play. However there are lots of simple things that you can do at home to reduce that fear and to make maths fun. Often its just knowing where to start and how to help that can be the issue.
