Reading Comprehension: How to Assess and Intervene

This lecture will cover best practice in the assessment of reading comprehension, and the most up-to-date interventions to support the development of reading comprehension for primary and secondary-age students.

This lecture will start by discussing best practice in the assessment of reading comprehension. It will go on to cover how the newly developed and evidence-based ‘Reading for Meaning’ intervention programme can be used to deliver 1:1 and small group interventions for students with reading comprehension disorders. The resources for this programme will be provided in the course handouts.
