The Simple View of Reading (Rose 2006) with the two interacting dimensions, word recognition and language comprehension, is seen as essential to pupils becoming skilled readers. [IfL website].
Patoss, in association with the Dyslexia-SpLD Trust funded by the Deaprtment for Education, has produced this 22 minute webcast and accompanying resources to support teachers and support staff in working with students with SEN. This looks at how the Simple View of Reading can be used as a very effective tool to help to identify and target approaches for individuals to support teaching and learning and your graduated response.
