Take part in a multi-disciplinary meeting and/or speak to different professionals

Take part in a multi-disciplinary meeting and/or speak to different professionals working in the field e.g. speech and language therapist to gain a better understanding of the roles and contributions each professional makes to supporting learners with dyslexia/SPLD.

:-  Use information from the website below to gain insight into the roles of various SEN professionals.  If any of your learners are under the care of any such professionals, meet with your SENCO to discuss whether you need to collaborate directly with them.

If this is not necessary, ensure that you have relevant information from your SENCO to enable you to teach your learner in a way which enforces the professional’s guidelines and supports a collaborative approach.

Also attend any CPD in your setting which relates to this, or request that INSET is arranged for the whole setting, if appropriate.

Take part in any multi-disciplinary meetings, if relevant.
