Diagnostic Assessment at Secondary Level: Best Practice in Testing and Reporting
This course is designed for teachers conducting diagnostic assessments with secondary age students whose Specific Learning Difficulties may not yet have been diagnosed. Using case studies, it will show teachers how to gather the data needed and assess students’ strengths and weaknesses. They will develop their skills in using quantitative and qualitative information gathered to form a conclusion which talks account of any protective/ compensatory factors and making recommendations. They will consider the writing of an accurate and accessible report to initiate the first phase of the Graduated Approach for SpLD learners and enable schools understand the needs of students, so that the most effective intervention is given to support them.
