Diagnostic Assessment: Confidence in Your Statistics, Tests and Interpretation

This course is intended for specialist teachers already conducting diagnostic assessments who wish to gain confidence in more detailed analysis of outcomes. It covers advanced psychometric principles drawn on to interpret data, range of ways to determine significant weaknesses and differences in skills, role of qualitative information in analysis of outcomes. It reviews issues of reliability when selecting and using standard tests and discusses how information on validity in test manuals informs implications for learning and recommendations. Individual Case Studies interweave the sessions to enable delegates to apply strategies and draw data together to form confident conclusions ensuring reports meet professional best practice guidelines.
